The Chef showcased a great variety of techniques. Together with the restaurant’s decorations and its view, it truly offers a spectacular modern dining experience.
Top of the Town
I have been fortunate to have been able to enjoy the Vue de Monde experience more than most and am constantly delighted at the incredible inventiveness of the dishes there. Everything is considered and every aspect of a meal is honed to the finest possible level from the setting, the ambiance, the cutlery and crockery, the service, the presentation, and the constant invention in the dishes make VdM an outstanding culinary experience.
Exceptional
A sensational experience that involved a perfect level of theatre, elegance and earthiness. I was introduced to flavour combinations I had never dreamed of such as mushroom flavoured marshmallows.. Hopefully I get to treat myself to this gorgeous experience again in my lifetime.
Attention to detail is Amazing! This Restaurant is excellence-innovation
Amazing experience going back again in September
Absolutely fantastic dining experience. It is all theatre here. The chefs and front of house team provide the over dining experience. There is a lot of show going on and its perfectly complimented with a well thought menu. The dishes are beyond normal but seem simple and not overly complex from the ingredients. You have to experience this once to feel the special royalty... Service is 6 star!!
Excellent, interesting dishes. Outstanding, attentive service. Now with beautiful views.
The degustation menu accompanied with tasting wines at Vue de Monde is stupendous.

The services at Vue de Monde is tremendous. Each staff is knowledgeable and courteous treating you as you’re an A-list.
The design of Vue de Monde is a dazzling contemporary decor however lack intimacy.
The prices at Vue de Monde is quiet steep but for a restaurant at this high caliber, you get what you pay for.
Vue de Monde was a fantastic dining experience however will only be a onetime experience for us.
This is a food lover's idea of heaven. Nestled on the 55th floor of the Rialto overlooking the city of Melbourne, you get a million dollar view and food to match. The food, wine and service were flawless. Do yourself a favour and choose the degustation - you will not be disappointed. It's an experience that you will never want to end.

Phenomenal service (ladies, your bag will never touch the floor with the wait staff lightening fast speed to hang it), the food sublime and the lunch menu is extraordinary value. Love it. Have eaten at Tetauyas, Quay, in London at Nobu, Ivy, Scott's and this place blows the rests out of the water.
It was amazing!! Food was impressive. Such a dining experience! Can't wait to visit again once they move to The Rialto!!
Totally blown away .....fantastic experience
Since working with Shannon at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne some 14 years ago, shannon then being an apprentice chef who worked in all of the kitchens under Roger Lion heart(Executive Chef) and then Dieter Harland and myself as chef Tournant in the Banquet Kitchen, has truly become the highlight of one of Melbourne's best Restaurants if not the best.I remember Shannon being the person that he was then and still is today.Shannon always had that spark in his eyes that shined like an diamond, with a thirst for more.We all at the Grand Hyatt knew this hungry young chef was going to be something special. After leaving the Hyatt and finishing he,s apprenticeship he embarked to go to europe and worked with some of the best chefs that embraced him and taught him the way to he,s now great status. Many chefs copy or replicate from others but not Shannon,He is a self motivated Professional chef that creates his ideas with great artistic balance.I am proud to say that I had the chance to work with such a chef as he is today.Shannon now has the the world at his feet, and mark my words its only time that stands between him and being the holder of the best restaurant of world if not holding a minimum of three of the best restaurants in the top ten. I have dined at his restaurants on a number of occasions and every time I leave with a thought" when will I come back " just trying to make an excuse to further indulge in his food, and wine great wine selection.Mmm I do believe my mouth is drewling, Its time for my 20th visit. My sincere regards AVR.
Spectacular in every way, including the bill !!
I suppose you get what you pay for. Couldn't fault the food, service or wine list.
Our table of 4 were divided in our opinions on this restaurant. The food, without question is spectacular, we all agreed on that. We had 8 courses and 2 bottles of wine. Not much change out of $1000. You obviously don't come here if you're watching the "pennies". Value for money is so subjective. One of our group thought it very over priced, others delighted to eat so well for what they considered a fair price. Particularly compared to London, where they had just been. The opinions, of the room itself were mixed. I prefered the old place in Carlton, others loved the new place. Hell of a draught when the doors were openned to let people in & the noise from the industrial type "Barmix" was intrusive when sitting near the kitchen. (my opinion) Others loved the "theatre" of watching the kitchen brigade at work. No menu? This brought mixed views. Some loved the idea of being surprised when the next dish arrived. I prefer to know what's coming, so the taste buds get excited in anticipation and good wine selection can be made. (Although the Sommellier was spot on with the recomendations) Unless you have deep pockets this is a "special occassion" restaurant. We will definitely return, but will ask for a table away from the front door!
