More About Blue Pool

You will be spoilt for choice by pristine waters and the natural beauty of our quiet and sometimes secluded beaches, lakes, pools and other unique coastal landscapes in and around Bermagui. Explore some of the best kept secrets of the Sapphire Coast ... or some of the not so secret.

Families and children love the seasonally patrolled Horseshoe Bay Beach, the rocks at either end provide great exploring and snorkelling and sometimes meeting with a local seal.

Moorheads Beach and Haywards Beach do a long lazy stretch north of Bermagui to Camel Rock. The old road leading in to Bermagui follows Moorheads Beach and now makes a leisurely walk with bird hides along the way. Camel Rock Surf Beach is another wonderful photographic and picnic spot.

Leave the camel behind and delve into the rock pools or pick up the coastal walk to Wallaga Lake. One of the largest coastal lakes in NSW, Wallaga Lake is an area of outstanding natural beauty with special significance for the Aboriginal people of the area. Enjoy a myriad of water activities or simply spend time enjoying the pace and the black swans. Murunna Point which overlooks the mouth of Wallaga Lake will keep your camera lens busy.

The renowned Blue Pool is an iconic natural rock pool at the base of the cliff on Scenic Drive. A lovely spot for a picnic and one of the best spots to enjoy your fish and chips during the whale watching season. Spectacular views up and down the coastline including views to Montague Island.

Beares Beach
Beares Beach

Surfers don't want to miss Beares Beach, just a short stroll south of the Blue Pool. If man's best friend is travelling with you, then they are welcome off leash at part of this beach.

Cuttagee Beach is a regular gathering place for local surfers and the lake provides safe and shallow waters for children to play.

But if swimming and sunbathing as a naturist is your preference, visit Armands Beach which is declared by Bega Valley Shire Council as a legal clothes optional beach.

Surrounded by national parks, it is not hard to understand why many are discovering and falling in love with this very special location, recognised as one of Australia's National Landscapes.

There is much to explore. Find your own special place ... be inspired.
