About Cradle Moutain-Lake St Clair National Park
The favourite of Australian bushwalkers - 126,000ha of uninhabited rainforest and moorland surrounding some of Tasmania's highest mountains. Part of the Tasmanian World Heritage Wilderness area, it has icy mountain streams, cascading out of rugged mountains, and into mirror like glacial lakes. The area is covered by ancient rainforests and beech trees, which provide colour every autumn. The park is the starting point for the world famous Overland Track, a 6 day walk through the wilderness.
