More About Emerald Star Cruises
Come and enjoy the most spectacular harbour in the world, by cruising aboard the historic Emerald Star. Buy a ticket on one of the special cruises as shown on the website or get a group of friends, relatives or work colleagues together and customise your cruise.
FROM LAVENDER BAY
From its home base in Lavender Bay, the Emerald Star can pick you up from the wharf of your choice on Sydney Harbour. Its size allows it to carry a party of 100 plus passengers and yet it is small enough to access areas such as Darling Harbour or many of the harbour's coves or islands. Being owner operated, it offers exceptional value.
DINING & BEVERAGES
You have the option of bringing your own food, alcohol and ice or using the catering service provided. There is a 6 burner barbecue on board. The gas and tools are free, but there is a $50 cleaning fee. Esky's and dining tables are provided.
FACILITIES, FUNCTIONS & ENTERTAINMENT
For those of you who want to let loose on the dance floor, there is a 1000W sound system, complete with PA. Music can be provided or you may bring your own CDs or use the iPod interface. If all you want is large open space or to decorate the boat to suit your theme, the space is there for creativity to flow. The windows all open and the vessel is designed to allow for full panoramic views.
The Emerald Star, registered with National Parks, is also available to transfer people around the harbour. If you want to move a group, small or large, then the Emerald Star is ideal for you.
HISTORY
The Emerald Star was launched in 1942. It is of timber construction, 40 tonnes and has a single deck. Many locals will remember it with fondness as a Hegarty's ferry which provided a friendly service until it ceased operations in 2003. It underwent a major restoration in 2008.
If you enjoy the romance of an historical boat, a beautiful harbour with secluded bays, a professional crew and the company of friends, then this is the cruise for you.
