Fishing on the Fraser Coast
About Fishing on the Fraser Coast
Nobody that goes fishing on the Fraser Coast goes home empty handed - and for good reason. The Fraser Coast is one of Queensland's most prominent recreational and sport fishing destinations, from Fraser Island's artificial reef to one of the four Burrum rivers. The famous Urangan Pier, situated in Hervey Bay, is the destination to catch bream and garfish all year round, with summer whiting caught between September and May, and in the deeper water, Old Spanish Mackerel. If you're keen to take to the waters on fishing charter, boat or the humble tinny, expect to be rewarded with a range of tropical and pelagic species in the water, including trevally, snapper and marlin.
every man and his 4x4 has to do this trip at least once in their lives
