About Furneaux Museum

Showcasing the cultural and natural history of the Furneaux group of islands, Furneaux Museum houses a myriad of classic artifacts, some dating back to 1797. Uncover the history of the Aboriginal people on the islands pre and post settlement and see the relics of the many surrounding shipwrecks around the islands. Geology, flora, fauna and bird life are all showcased within the Furneaux Museum, reflecting the unique island landscapes and formations, with life in the Furneaux Region highlighted with a collection of albums, photographs and documents.
