About Marengo Reefs Marine Sanctuary
Protecting 12 hectares of ocean waters, the Marengo Reefs Marine Sanctuary is the protected habitat for the creatures and coral life of Little Henty Reef. Both the inner and outer reef are exposed and separated by the narrow channel of 'The Gap', which house a myriad of majestic seaweed gardens, colourful soft sponge and coral gardens and a range of species including Australian Fur Seals, tubeworms, pipefish and zebra fish. Snorkelling can be enjoyed at all levels within the Marengo Reefs Marine Sanctuary, with kayaking and boat launching facilities only a short journey along the Great Ocean Road in Apollo Bay.
