60mL whiskey
30mL Cointreau
1/2 cup Barker's chunky NZ apple sauce
2 Tbs lemon juice
2 Tbs cinnamon simple syrup
Cinnamon simple syrup:
1/2 cup boiling water
1 Tbs brown sugar
1/2 Tbs ground cinnamon
Ice for shaking
Cinnamon simple syrup:
Mix together 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 tablespoon brown sugar (or caster sugar) and 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon. Combine well and set aside for use.
Cocktail:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with a generous amount of ice and shake well for 30 seconds to a minute.
Use a sieve to strain the cocktail and pour into two glasses.
Serve with a slice of apple and touch of lemon rind.
