Cheat's Black Forest Cake



Ingredients

2 chocolate mud cakes
300mL thickened cream
1/3 cup (110 g) cherry jam
680 g jar Morello cherries, drained
1/2 x 400 g tub chocolate frosting
Chopped Cadbury Cherry Ripe bar, to serve
White chocolate curls, to serve
Raspberry flavoured candy toppers, to sprinkle

Method

Use a large serrated knife to trim the top of the cakes. Cut each cake in half horizontally (reserve 1 cake layer for another use). Place 1 cake layer on a serving plate and spread 1 tablespoon of the jam over the top.

Use an electric mixer to whisk the cream in a bowl until firm peaks form. Add 2 tablespoons of the remaining jam and gently marble. Spoon half the cream mixture over the cake. Top with half the cherries. Continue layering with remaining cake, jam, cream mixture and cherries, finishing with the remaining cake layer.

Spread with chocolate frosting. Decorate with Cherry Ripe, chocolate curls and candy toppers.
