Greek Goddess Cocktail - Recipe by Cassi Scott from Nineteen

Ingredients

30mL Grey Goose vodka
30mL St Germain Elderflower liqueur
30mL lemon juice
30mL freshly juiced cucumber
15mL sugar syrup
Cucumber ribbon to garnish

Method

Begin by placing all your ingredients into a cocktail shaker. For a well-chilled beverage add ice to glass before serving, be generous with the ice. Fill the shaker halfway or more with ice cubes. Secure the lid tightly on the shaker and begin shaking vigorously. You should shake the cocktail for about 15 to 20 seconds, or until the outside of the shaker feels cold and frosty to the touch. This ensures the ingredients are properly chilled and blended to the right balance to taste.

After shaking, set up a double-straining process to achieve a smooth, clean drink. First, place a Hawthorne strainer over the top of the shaker. Then, use a mesh strainer at the same time to double strain the liquid into your chilled rocks glass. This double-strain method results in the cocktails having a silky-smooth texture.

Next, add fresh ice cubes to the rocks glass, ensuring your drink stays cold and refreshing. For the finishing touch, garnish with a cucumber ribbon. To create this, use a vegetable peeler to slice a thin ribbon of cucumber. Gently twist or coil the cucumber ribbon and place it into the glass, either inside or draped over the rim, for a refreshing and visually appealing garnish. The cucumber will add an aromatic, fresh note that complements the drink’s flavours.

Serve immediately and enjoy the crisp, refreshing cocktail!
