About Basco
Basco’s unique tacos and share plates are well-travelled as they create dishes that draw influence and flavours from all around Asia. Located on Sydney Road in Brunswick, this trendy Mexican eatery has open surrounds of modern industrial fittings, rustic brickwork, colourful parasols attached to the ceiling and hipster portraits of artists such as Frida Kahlo. Try Kim Jong Yum chicken bites, cucumber, satay and spicy gochujang sauce to kick start a fiesta of flavours, followed by tacos like the Natalie Porkman – 5-hour roast pork, black vinegar BBQ sauce, slaw, pineapple sweet corn salsa, jalapeno tequila mayo and herbs. Looking to share? Opt for Shanghai lamb ribs, with Cointreau, maple and BBQ sauce glaze and chilli; or Fuku sweet potato and eggplant wedges and sweet miso lime sauce.
