Underwhelmed
We tried Bill's given it's one hat and excellent reviews. Unfortunately it did not hit the mark for us. The service was generally good but we had to call our server over on a couple of occasions for drinks and water. The place felt quite cramped to us and the staff quite frenetic which meant, for us, the atmosphere was not one of ease. The food was good, however, we didn't think it was that special that it justified the 5/5 reviews we'd read on Google. We also felt we were rushed through our meal as this is a restaurant that turns over tables as swiftly as possible. Maybe it was just this occasion, however, we have tried a number of other restaurants on the mid north coast that we believe have a better claim to a hat than Bill's Fishhouse.

Friendly team and great food. Absolutely try the BBQ prawns.

Pleasant surprise with very short notice
Good food with exclusively NSW wines and friendly service (although we don’t like often repeated enquires as to our enjoyment - were they expecting something wrong?!). That aside a great evening.

Great Evening
A group of 6 of us celebrated my wife’s birthday at Bills and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our friends who travelled up the coast from Nelson’s Bay all commented how much they loved the food and the wonderful service. It was such a lovely evening and since moving to Port to live we are sure to be back to Bill’s Fishouse to enjoy
