Great Views and Food at Bistro C, But Service Falls Short
My recent visit to Bistro C in Noosa left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant, boasting an enviable location with stunning ocean views, sets the stage for a wonderful casual dining experience. The culinary offerings were impressive, with each dish reflecting a harmonious blend of flavors and creativity.
However, the service did not match up to the high standards set by the food and the location. Our evening, which began at 5 PM, was unexpectedly cut short. After enjoying our mains, at 6:20 PM, the waiter, with a rather abrupt and dismissive manner, handed us the bill. He informed us that our table was needed for another booking at 6:30 PM. This was both surprising and disappointing, especially as we had hoped to linger over dessert and enjoy the relaxed, seaside ambiance a bit longer.
The experience was soured further by the waiter's demeanor. Instead of the warm, casual approach one anticipates in such a setting, we were met with an attitude that felt both arrogant and unaccommodating. This starkly contrasted with the restaurant's casual, beachside vibe and the quality of the food we had just enjoyed.
While the kitchen at Bistro C clearly knows its craft, the service team seems to lack the same level of finesse. Being hurried through a meal, particularly in a place where one expects to unwind and enjoy the views at a leisurely pace, was a letdown. It's a shame that our memory of Bistro C is now overshadowed by the feeling of being unwelcome, an impression no diner should have, especially in a casual dining environment.
In summary, Bistro C's exceptional location and delightful food are unfortunately overshadowed by the lackluster service. For a restaurant situated in such a beautiful spot, and with such potential for a relaxed dining experience, there's significant room for improvement in how guests are treated.
Amazing beachfront views & food to match!
Breakfast was delicious - tempting menu & very yummy! To be sitting on the beach with lapping waves so close & fantastic friendly service we will definitely be coming back to enjoy a meal here again!!
Great food and service but the meal was too big so we couldn't eat entrée or pudding. Disappointing as we had planned and were looking forward to a meal out.
Beautiful, funky setting. Friendly international staff. Delicious calamari for entree. Pork belly yum but pineapple a bit bitter with it. Delicious steak
The location of this restaurant is right on the beach, it would have to be the most romantic, scenic, setting in Queensland. Dine out doors to the resonance of the sea, with all the accompanying sounds, view the setting sun, or dine indoors with intimate, comfortable, surroundings, without losing the view, celebrate a special occasion, or get married on the beach, then drift into the Bistro for the reception. The interior is very spacious, with a wide frontage of glass, making the most of the beautiful scenery. The modern decor is predominately in white and grey shades, very stylish with unusual modern art and black and white photos on the walls. A built in book case at one end, is lined with pressed metal and then adorned with antique books and other interesting mementos. Pressed metal also decorates a counter and columns near the entrance, which features blinds with a narrative from "the last days of Pompeii" printed on them, fascinating. Three groupings of, string and cane ball light shades, white bird cages, and dark balls strung at varying lengths, all add to the visually stimulating environment, yet over-all creates a lovely gentle ambience. From an excellent menu, with daily specials, we chose an Eye fillet of Kilcoy beef, on smashed desiree potatoes, garden peas, roasted pimento salsa and mushroom jus, the preparation and presentation of the steak was perfect, and, a caramelised pork belly, on shiitake mushroom prawn and asparagus nasi goreng, sour pineapple achar, and sticky tamarind glaze, hot and spicy, with very crisp crackling. A carefully selected wine list accompanies your dining choice. Highly recommended.
Every course was excellent with service to match.
