The BEST service I have had all year! Last Thursday night was the first time I have had the pleasure of dining at Cecconi’s Cantina, and a pleasure it certainly was! Arriving 4 hours late for a dinner reservation compliments of Qantas delays, the last of the patrons were already finishing up their remaining mouthfuls of dessert and enjoying cups of coffee by the time we arrived. Given that it was just shy of 11pm I would have more than understood if we could not be accommodated that evening; but nevertheless we were welcomed in with enthusiasm and assurance that “it’s perfectly ok”! The kitchen was already closed and had been scrubbed down by the time we arrived. This however did not prevent recommendation of a delicious Pappardelle with braised shin ragu and equally appetising Prawn risotto. While the food was excellent and my compliments must go to the chefs, the highlight of the evening was the service! Attentive, accomplished, committed, charming and genuine, all of these utterly describe the wait staff here. At no time were we made to feel rushed despite being the last people in the restaurant and not an opportunity was missed to make us feel distinctive and exclusive. Hats off to George and others (I’m sorry I did not get each of your names). A most unexpected delightful experience. Can’t wait to be back!
True Italian cuisine. Fresh, simple and extremely tasty. Yum, we'll be back!
