About David's Restaurant

Bringing Melburnians together through food bursting with the tastes of Shanghai, David’s Restaurant on Cecil Place in Prahran is one of the city’s favourite Chinese eateries. Born 21 years ago as a small tea store on Chapel Street founded by Shanghai-born David Zhou, this hidden gem provides an escape from city hustle and bustle where guests can forget the noise and city lights while feasting on delicious dishes. Start with crystal prawn dumplings and dipping sauce, or pan-fried BBQ pork buns; before larger plates like smoked duck legs, salted duck egg crème, steamed rice and stir-fried seasonal vegetables. Perhaps honey pepper beef short ribs and housemade flatbread tempt, enjoyed with a glass of Pinot Noir; while yum cha lovers can opt for unlimited dishes from David’s special menu.
