I last reviewed this restaurant a year ago and three of us went there early January 2013. The food was better than last time but it was good then too. It is an excellent country Chinese and Malaysian restaurant. The seafood was excellent, fresh and the vegetable dish was very good but could have had a few more Chinese vegetables and Chinese mushrooms. But it is a real find in Tamworth. Good food, good quality and good value.
Arrived without a booking on a Thursday and was seated quickly. The food menu is extensive and the wine list covered most wine growing regions without being expensive. The waitress was interactive and, once ordered, the food arrived very quickly. I had lemon chicken which was tasty and fresh. The decor is typically Chinese, simple and well maintained. Worth a visit.
This is an excellent restaurant. If you are traveling to Sydney from Brisbane its way better than most city based suburban Chinese restaurants. There is no Chinese glug here. The food is fresh and servings generous. We had the Malaysian duck which was beautifully cooked and the combination hot pot which was outstanding. The combination fried rice was so so and a bit dry so stick to steamed rice. Wines were very reasonably priced and the meal good value. We would certainly go there again and try some of the other special dishes. A great find in Tamworth. Highly recommended
