About Emilios Ristorante Junction

Think of Italy and a vision springs to mind of large, noisy families gathering around tables laden with good country fare and wine – that scene is emulated at Emilios Ristorante on Union Street at The Junction. This Newcastle dining destination delivers Italian-style fare with an emphasis on homemade, served in bright and breezy surrounds of polished wood, cosy table settings and a glass frontage which lets in an abundance of natural light. Pizza and pasta are an integral part of the menu – think wood-fired slices with mozzarella, garlic prawns, calamari, mussels and parsley, or the Palermo with pepperoni, Italian sausage, basil, oregano, mozzarella, olives and roasted capsicum. Perhaps opt for spinach and ricotta ravioli in creamy basil Napolitana sauce, enjoyed with a glass of red wine.

The food and service where impeccable
On 18/1/25 we had lunch at a table of 13. I was quite taken by the gentle kindness of the tall, thin, dark and courteous waiter who took my order. I asked about the Italian language associated with my order and he briefly discussed the Italian village where the dish originated. It was refreshing and inspiring to learn more about Italian culture. Thank you waiter for interesting conversation and your sense of pride and patriotism.
