About Hello José
It’s a place where people go to share a smile, a laugh, a cold drink and tasty Mexican fare with flair – say arriba to tacos and tequila at Hello José on Peel Street in West Melbourne. Don’t expect to say hola to Jose, he seems to disappear at the drop of a sombrero, at this taqueria - which rocks a Mexican beach vibe with an alfresco Cerveza Garden, strung with flags, lights and a disco ball - while green plastic crates topped with cushions provide seating. House-pressed soft tortillas are made fresh daily and stuffed with your choice of fillings, like beer-battered fish, spiced up cream and pickled cabbage; or fried chipotle chicken, lettuce and coriander mayo. Chow down on chipotle chilli chicken wings, with a choice of tangy or sweet; finishing with churros and chocolate chilli sauce.
