Just like the famous author, Hemingway on Northfields Avenue in Wollongong is larger than life, loves food, coffee, drink, people and adventure. Located inside Wollongong University, this rustic café sets a warm and inviting vibe with exposed brick, a plush red velvet couch for chilling out and a portrait of the man himself in pride of place. On balmy days take to the sunny terrace and sip an iced chai latte while perusing an all-day menu of brunch and lunch fare; perhaps starting the day with a three-egg omelette – bacon, cheese and leek – served with toast. The lunch crowd is spoilt for choice with dishes like grilled salmon, lemon caper sauce, salad and chips; or chow down on a Big Beef burger, with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and secret sauce, with a side of sweet potato fries.
