My fiancé and I usually wait for little trips to coastal towns to experience unpretentious fancy food! Finally, we have a place to feel like we’re on holidays right here at home. When our waiter romanced each dish on the brunch menu, charismatically describing his recommendation on the house offerings we knew we were in for a treat. We decided to share everything and indulge our senses. The sun was blistering, the coffee was prefect and out comes the first dish of lobster benedict. A generous portion of Sous-Vide lobster in fresh lemon, the way the lemon cut through the hollandaise sauce preparing our palate for every bite was very refreshing, all resting on a lightly toasted bagel with baby spinach. Next came the brekky bowl, admittedly not what id usually order but OMG! There were just so many ingredients we just had to know how this beautiful mess was going to turn out. Layer upon layer of flavours and textures and super foods and nuts and berries that work in such harmony you keep finding a new experience in every bite! I could eat this every day and never get sick of it. And it’s good for you. I’ll never understand how they did that? And how could we stop now? We had to try the “Black Forrest Fried Brioche!” This is a culinary masterpiece! This is the Hopscotch twist on French Toast (On Steroids!) Mascarpone, winter berries, some-kind of crushed brownie, mandarin curd on fried brioche. Delicious is an understatement! If I can make a simple recommendation… watch this place! Hopscotch, the chef and their staff have a vision to create something exceptional in our town. They won our tummies, we’ll be back!!!
