About Ivanhoe Tavern Charcoal Grill
The Ivanhoe Tavern is situated in Upper Heidelberg Road and has been an icon of the Ivanhoe district since 1966. Emilio, the owner is continuing the tradition of providing wholesome and traditional meals, specialising in tender steaks; however he is now expanding the menu to include sumptuous seafoods and vegetarian fare. The menu has plenty of options, but we suggest the Set Menu, which includes Entrée, Main Course, Dessert and coffee. The chevaps traditional home made skinless sausages is a must and his range of organic steaks are mouth watering, with a choice of rump, sirloin, scotch, eye fillet, rib eye and beef shaslik, plus a selection of fresh seafood and chicken.

Sunday 12/08/12 visit. Ordered a porterhouse & rib eye. Steaks cooked great & well rested, promptly served with an awesome charcoal taste and cooked near perfectly. Grill is placed in full view for the customer to see how it is cooked. Lovely mash & salad sides, sauces etc. Great coffee too. Excellent service with a smile at all times. I will definately be going back for sure.

Have been going to I-T for years, food was Fantastic when Ozzie owned the Restuarant and nothing has changed since Emilio took over, I always have the Rump cooked Blue and it is the best I have ever had, even better than some more well known Steak Restuarants, if you want a great Steak in a great atmosphere this is the place to go.....
I am from Adelaide & I have had one of the best steaks ever from a restaurant. This is the place to have excellent, tender & flaour-full steaks. The Chef/Owner was very freindly & also the staff was great. Even though the restaurant was fully booked out they accomodated us as we arrived there early & they accepted us for dinner so long as we vacated by 7.30pm.(we had no booking & arrived at 5.30pm).
