About Kimchi Cheese Smile

For Korean fare to put a smile on your face, head along Stanley Street in East Brisbane to find Kimchi Cheese Smile. This new kid on the block delivers contemporary cuisine inspired by punchy Korean flavours in fun and funky surrounds of black subway tiles, bright orange accents and picture windows looking out onto the city streets. Visit for weekend brunch and devour dishes such as bulgogi panini with soy sauce beef, Turkish toast, cheddar, tomato, red onion and chips, or lamb shoulder ragu, avocado and egg. Dinner guests can delve into housemade pork dumplings to start, followed by mains like scallop risotto with Korean barley, pecorino, prawn salt and nori crisp; or spicy char-grilled pork, mushrooms and bean sprouts. Finish sweetly with cherry sorbet, lime, pecan and basil.

Best hidden gem in Brisbane
I have been here 5 times this year and never has it disappointed. It has a small, well perfected menu and everything is delicious, well thought out and well presented. Every dish is a favourite! The chef does it solo, yet food keeps streaming out of the kitchen at good speed. Sara the owner is the sole waitress and head of house and is friendly, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about food and her restaurant.
The dining experience and food was better than some of the hatted restaurants in Brisbane I have been to.
High recommend to anyone!
