About Iimis Cafe
Flavour meets creativity at locally loved Iimis Café on Seymour Street in Traralgon. This community hub first opened its doors in 1999 with a vision to create a welcoming space for all to come together, enjoy great meals and feel at home in warm and inviting surroundings. Early risers stop in for smoked salmon, avocado and feta smash, poached eggs, sweet potato dip, dukkah spice and sourdough; while later diners begin with five-spice calamari, lettuce and lime chilli mayonnaise, before slow-roasted lamb shank, red wine jus, mashed potato and vegetables. Perhaps a warm chicken salad tempts with lettuce, cherry tomato, butternut pumpkin, avocado, cashews and lime chilli mayo; while burgers lovers devour Aussie beef with bacon, lettuce, onion jam, egg, cheese, tomato and aioli with fries.

Love this place
this place one of my fav, good food, grat coffee and very friendly staff
Venison Osso Buco was delicious, my husband ordered mouth watering eye fillet mignon it's was great, service was outstanding as always, good variety of cakes, nice retro style music in a background. We was pleased. Not to expensive lots to choose bid menu. We will be coming back with couple of friends next week for my birtday can't wait.
There should be a grading of Poor for wholly sub-standard food. I was twice served portions of snapper fillet that were so overdone that my knife could not cut them. My dining companion also had trouble cutting his snapper fillet - but he bravely ate his. Undoubtedly the worst cooked fish I have ever been served. When I asked that the chef be told of this comment, the waiting staff returned with no response from the chef! I was charged the full price for the meal although I ate none of the fish. NEVER order fish at this restaurant. The chips were, however, lovely: but I don't think $22.50 is the right price for a handfull of chips!
Interesting and varied breakfast menu, good coffee and friendly, sparse and onobtrusive service. Table staff member remained friendly despite one of my companions getting a bit testy with her about sharing policy on a dish. Californian Breakfast was fresh tasting and bitey. Omelettes and pancakes were flavoursome and of good size too. Funk music not too loud in what could be a very echoey room if not managed right. Only concern is the flies. Lots of them, on the barista, tables, they need to address this issue as it is the big turn off. Overall, a tasteful and classy breakfast spot in a regional town, something that can be hard to find. Just lose the flies.
