About Magpies Nest

Come eat, drink, enjoy and relax at Magpie’s Nest on Pine Gully Road in Wagga Wagga – it’s that simple! Expect no pretence, just good food in a beautiful place at this Riverina dining destination where the restaurant nestles in an elegant stone stable built in the 1860s, offering vineyard views and Modern Australian set menus. On balmy days sit alfresco with a chilled wine and graze on housemade bread and a selection of small bites; before delving into mains such as roasted chicken with tarragon jus, herbed white beans, smoky Romesco sauce and crispy fried leeks. Perhaps a grilled cutlet of pork entices, dusted in prickly ash, with chilli and lime caramel, green mango, foraged greens and ginger nuoc cham dressing. For an indulgent finish, try coconut panna cotta and granola crumble.

One word - Magical!
The team at Magpies Nest is the perfect place for those that expect perfection and appreciate it when it is delivered!
All dishes not only taste amazing, but are plated beautifully, using locally grown produce - some out of their very own backyard!
I highly recommend Magpies Nest for your next special occasion, birthday, wedding, or just a Friday night treat!

Fabulous Location, All Local Produce, with European Ambience & Style" As the Contemporary Australian Regional NSW Restaurant Award Winner for 2010, our expectations were high and we were not disappointed. It was sunset on our arrival and the converted stable looked stunning. The view from the hill top, over looked gardens, olive groves, vineyards with the lights of Wagga Wagga beyond. To our amazement the eclectic menu consisted of all local produce, freshness guaranteed. The antipasti was diverse and mouth watering. While we were eating, a birthday and an engagement were celebrated. An idyllic setting for any celebration. The duck which is their signature dish, and understandable so. As my wife declared the best, she has ever eaten, including in France!. The pork was equally delicious. The fresh from the garden, greens, were the perfect accompaniment. The dessert tasting platter was inspired and delectable, the coffee, flavorsome and very palatable. This family owned and operated restaurant, was a totally a pleasurable experience. Throughly recommended. Trevor Scott. Freelance: Travel writer.
