About Malt Dining
A dining experience like no other awaits guests at Malt Dining on Market Street in the heart of Brisbane city. This rustic, chic fine dining venue spans three levels of a converted market building, offering an eclectic menu focusing on degustation choices in the Attic restaurant, where soaring vaulted ceilings and exposed brick set the scene for memorable meals. The surrounding windows show the passage of time and frame this beautiful venue as you settle in for a night of fine wine, food and classic service. Embark on your culinary journey with beef tartare, crispy potato, wasabi leaf and egg yolk; then delve into pork collar, charred greens, spiced pineapple, pickled radish, kipfler potatoes and charcoal grilled broccolini. Finish indulgently with Malt brownie, malted milk and pecan.
A few words from Malt Dining
Malt Dining was inspired from the warmth generated from child hood warm Malted milk served up by mums in the cold of winter in the UK. I loved the sweetness and comfort from the inside out that this tasty beverage gave me as a child.
In teenage years my love of the Antiques road show (weird I know) saw me attracted to old buildings and the comfort that can come from the imagination of those that came before us.
Wenley house was built in 1865 and became the birthplace for the Brisbane Municipal Markets, before moving to Roma St and eventually, Roklea. The building housed many of it life.
In 2011 I was inspired by the presence of this beautiful Georgian building with all its working class glory.
Malt Dining served its first customer in June 2011. Our intention was to be here for the long term quietly doing our thing with out the noise of over the top marketing.
We operate over 3 levels, with our private dining cellar, Whisky/ Cocktail bar and Attic restaurant separated by exposed 170 year old rafters.
Private events, intimate dinners or drinks after work, we have it all covered in this beautiful space.
So drop in when you are in town.
Cheers
