About Mapleton Public House

Discover a place to connect with each other through food at the Mapleton Public House on Flaxton Drive. Nestled in this leafy town in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, sit on the verandah and take in stunning bush views with a cold beer; or head indoors where a fireplace warms during chilly months and leadlight shades glow softly overhead, setting the scene for memorable meals. From farm to fork expect to delve into starters like oven-baked scallops on the half shell with nduja cream, or coal-roasted octopus, turnips, radish cake and wild rice; for the main, think pan-fried yellowtail kingfish, herb sauce, farm greens and crispy bits. Perhaps harissa-spiced chicken hits the mark, with smoked yoghurt and grilled lime, or medium-rare rump cap, grilled cos, garlic potato cream and onion rings.

Exceptional paddock to plate dining
The food has just about the lowest food miles you will ever get. Trust the chef and go with Cameron’s suggestions. The food is picked fresh and travels 3 kilometres from the paddock to the kitchen. The meals are unusual but superbly plated and beautifully paired with sauces and accompaniments. The wait staff are knowledgeable and the service excellent in a laid back low key location. Best pub meal ever and one of the best meals I have had in the 75 countries I have dined in.

Had lunch here quite a few times, is always good. But last time was disappointed to find that the pork chop (off the grill) was deep fried. But, i'll still go back.
