Staffed by people facing barriers to employment through mental health issues and disabilities along with refugees, this café oozes charm from its location in the basement at City Hall with comfy leather couches, cosy corner nooks and eclectic knick-knacks. Discover brunch favourites, along with sandwiches, salads and cakes; think dishes like shakshuka – poached egg in tomato sauce with fried za’atar potatoes and toasted Turkish fingers. Stop in later for slow-cooked Persian chicken in pomegranate and toasted walnut gravy, served with rice, or a Sulta bowl with spiced cauliflower, lemon, pickled radish, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, parsley, hummus and zhoug.
