Wonderful evening
Great evening at Thala last week, had an amazing lamb shoulder, and cocktails, service was stretched with our waiter being run off his feet, but well worth the wait, will be back again to try out their new menu.

Seeing their post on socials something caught my eye
Crab ‘Mac and Cheese’!!!!! Just delicious of course the anchovies and scallop ceviche, seafood heaven. Thala is becoming a favourite of ours around port my second time in two months

We had the anchovies and the pork hock which was fantastic. We will definitely be back.

Best place for lunch !!!!
My wife and I had been told to check out Thala lodge for lunch and I’m sooo glad we did.
The lodge itself is stunning ‘rustic’ but stunning. The food is excellent, simple lunch affair nothing to heavy but still enough to fill your belly.
Anchovie fugasse,Parma ham, scallop cerviche, truffle fries. Quick tasty lunch and of course the coconut dessert!!!
Have a few to many we made the decision to book a cabin, and came back for dinner.
Two words ‘Pork Hock” you must try it. Thankyou Thala we will be back

Great food and service, options very creative and all flavourful, stunning views and service. A must if staying. Will be back!

Lord above, but this dish was beyond spectacular!!
From it's immaculate presentation to the well rounded delectable flavors, it was the highlight of the dining experience!

We will be back
Family came to visit and so we headed out to Thala to show off the beauty of the place. We were not interested in dining as previous experiences left much to desired. Staff informed us there was a new chef and upon viewing the menu we immediately changed our minds. Wow, wow, wow!!! What a experience and one we will repeat again soon.

Finally, something to write home about.
Thala is set in a beautiful location with an amazing eco friendly focus. Unfortunately, Osprey dining was always a complete disappointment. That was until recently. Osprey has a new chef and this chef without a doubt, knows his stuff. What a difference. The food is imaginative, flavourful and an experience we won’t soon forget. Thank you chef and Thala crew, for breathing life back into the menu.

Experience that won't dissapoint
Absolutely delicious food !!! Everything from the service to the chefs creations was out of this world !!! We Will be back. This is our new favorite place go !!!

Great vegan options !!!!
Having dined all the way around port Douglas we heard about Thala lodge, its a picture perfect location but heard a lot of mixed feelings about the restaurant.
Well what we experienced was great, being with my friend who’s vegan it can be somewhat challenging and the food options are usually boring. Not here, she was presented with her own Vegan menu which was just sensational, from charred carrots and fried spicy custard, vegan gnocchi (which I was told they make in house) beetroot and onion, it looked amazing and tasted great, even a desert that wasn’t just sorbet and fruit salad, excellent local coconut desert.
I had food envy not being vegan myself I had a great cerviche, and a grilled anchovie flat bread.
Will be back very soon.

Amazing
Very rarely leave a review ,
But having had eating here a few times before and being underwhelmed
That was until last Saturday, we had the scallop cerviche, Parma ham, beef scotch and ox cheek, sear market fish,
Excellence cooking and flavours, simple but a lot of care. Will be back very soon, well done Thala

Pork knuckle
We were lucky to dine the first night of the new menu, and let me tell you wow You just have to try the pork knuckle, the caramel chilli sauce my lord!!!!! What’s a delight.
10/10 we live local and have dine here a few times, its always been just ok the views and the venue is just beautiful, service friendly and attentive. Will be back very soon..

Wow what a transformation
My wife and I started here for 3 nights, the venue amazing. However!!
Being avid foodies we were somewhat disappointed with the restaurant, don’t get me wrong the view amazing, the setting rustic but charming, the food total trash!!!!!!
Crocodile salad!! Nugget's of flavourless meat with salad! Fried beef with salad! Fried prawns with poorly pickeld vege.
Needless to say we weren’t impressed, up on mentioning to the waiter, he informed us of a new chef starting and is launching a new hopefully better menu the following day.
We looked at the new menu and made a booking the following night.
What a transformation, over night originality arrived at Thala, Anchovie grilled bread,
fresh prawn tortellini, the highlite gin and tonic salmon, cucumber ketchup the plating and combinations are sensational. Total must. Keep it up kitchen… absolutely blew my mind

One of my favourite lunch spots. From your table you have the most amazing view over the treetops and across the water to the distant mountains. The food is amazing and the entertainment is provided by the Lorikeets that frolic in the trees, a nature lovers delight!
