About Potager
Set on a small 10-acre farm in Carool’s picturesque countryside sits Potager - A Kitchen Garden, a culinary destination popular with locals and visitors alike. While guests come to taste sumptuous cuisine, they are spoiled with a panorama across a flourishing Northern NSW valley from inside a contemporary fit-out, in the stylish décor of local craftspeople. As much as possible is grown on the farm and sourced from the surrounding region, with an aim to serve only organic produce and grass-fed meat. An ever-changing menu is sure to make the mouth water, with choices like lobster, smoked garlic butter, lemon and parsley, or duck breast, beetroot textures, rosella ketchup, Warrigal greens and Pinot jus. Finish divinely with coffee and wattleseed chocolate mousse and saffron-poached pear.

Ticks all the boxes- fantastic
We had not dined at Potager since the Covid lockdowns and it continues to tick all the boxes. The welcome was warm and the location and gardens create a relaxing atmosphere. All staff were knowledgeable about the food and wine, local producers at the forefront of menu offerings and the menu pays homage to old favourites as well as providing creative selections. WE LOVED IT and will not wait so long to return.
Couldn't fault it - exceptional dining experience in a casual intimate setting.
Great service and relaxed atmosphere. The joy of finding a menu where you're torn between choices, and intrigued by new and different offerings. Our party of four were so delighted with it, we decided to 'go for broke' and ordered cocktails, 4 courses, wine and dessert wine. Stunning, stunning food. A memorable and lovely lunch - we were the last to leave the restaurant!
Just a fabulous place to eat and enjoy some of the best food in Australia. I’ve been going to Potager since they opened. The service is impeccable the staff relaxed and friendly. The menu reflects the garden and local produce, changing through the year.

Great lunch at Potager today. From the unobtrusive but attentive service to the wonderful food, it was an outstanding experience. Starting with the lobster, it was mouthwatering and the Tasmanian oysters were so fresh I could taste the Tasman sea. Main was the iconic Fish Stew, with the smokey paprika giving it the perfect heat but never overpowering. The Fish of the Day was also outstanding, so delicate in flavour. On to dessert. The baklava was light and crisp, beautifully accompanied by vanilla gelato and the afogato perfectly hit the mark. All washed down with a delicious French Rosé, we couldn't have asked for a more delicious lunch. Thank you Peter and your crew, you made us so welcome and we can't wait for a return visit.

My favourite restaurant
The food, service and views are all amazing. I have eaten here many times and the level of service and food has been excellent every time. Peter is always welcoming and creates a relaxed atmosphere with personal service. Sadly I live 1000k away so only visit a couple of times a year.
We had our wedding with the Beautiful Potagers team under extreme circumstances & they were still incredible, food , service all our guest truly loved everything about Potager
Magnificent Meal
The best accidental discovery we have ever made. So much love from the enviable gardens to the hand made dinnerware to the extraordinary flavours so thoughtfully prepared with the best local produce. We will be back.

From the minute you walk you are greeted like an old friend. As well as the warm hospitality the food is devine with an imaginative menu to choose from. the produce is fresh fresh fresh . the big problem is what to choose. Invariably we eat too much of their delicious fare.

Have dined at Potager numerous times, last week took ladies from Sydney for lunch and they loved it. Beautiful setting and food was delicious as usual, service friendly and faultless. Love Potager !!

Fresh Seafood Lunch
Another exceptional lunch at The Potager in Carool our favourite restaurant. Greeted by Pete,,Kylie an Zane. Started with A huge vegetarian platter for two. Followed by a Goldban Schnapper fisn with Clams and Shevelled butter sauce and spinach vegetables. And a Red Emporer fish and Vermicelli Noodles and Coconut Lime and Turimic Dressing. Accompied by a bottle of Thorn Clark Riesling a delightful lunch with my wife. Sitting outside on the deck with farmland and ocean views. Fantastic lunch.
Superb!
The food is incredible - the flavours are this amazing combination, the presentation is beautiful, the produce is fresh and local. All floor staff are fantastic - efficient, helpful and personal. The gardens make an Entrance! The view is mesmerising.... The only issue with Potager is making a choice on what to have on each visit and...not overeating....you don't want to miss dessert!
This restaurant is really worth a visit. I'll bet if you go once you will become a regular if you live locally. Although we are not, I'd seriously consider revisiting Carool just for the food Peter and Gareth are serving at Potagers. Fresh, magic flavours, cooked to perfection, presented creatively make it a very special experience. The service provided by Peter and his crew add a sparkle to the culinary experience. Yum yum yum.
We just love this place. We were introduced to Potager by a family get together and have been here a couple of times with friends who reckon the food and everything about Potager is better than most restaurants on the Gold Coast and we have to agree. So do yourself a favour and go for a wonderful lunch at this fantastic little restaurant in a perfect setting with great service.

We have eaten at Potagers many times and have never been disappointed. The food and service are always spot on and it's our favourite local restaurant.

This is a hidden gem in the Tweed Hinterland. The chef(s) put so much love and passion in to their food, service and restaurant! I can't recommend this more highly for lunch or dinner. Do yourself a favour and enjoy this amazing experience!

Had to take my mum and partner as just love the food, service and setting. Love the new menu with all the delicious seeds and nuts; seasonal veg a whole cauliflower was delish! Thank you Peter.

Another wonderful experience of dining at The Potager. We were seated near the fireplace such a warm and inviting location. We sipped GSM red wine. We started with a shared vodka cured trout with beetroot and coddled egg. Then I had Pork Belly which was moist an flavorsome and crackle to die for. My wife had Fish of the day. Saddleback Salmon with eggplant puree and kale chips. The size of the meals were plentiful and affordable. Do yourselves a favour and visit The Potager at Carool Jeff an Melissa Carool

Great value for money. Excellent service in a lovely setting in the country with coastal views. Paddock to plate - everything fresh from their garden. Would recommend and will return.

This is a really, really good restaurant. The food is imaginative, fresh and absolutely delicious. The gardens are delightful, the staff are warm and friendly, and the views are spectacular. I've been there several times now, and can't wait to go back again. Well done Potager!
We loved this restaurant! Outstanding in every regard..Seriously fantastic food that is beautifully presented + so delicious. Most herbs and veggies grown in the cottage garden they have there..The view is to die for. I have never come across the vantage point that looks back over the Gold Coast through the valley. It really is spectacular. We had lunch for a friend's birthday and when the meals arrived, the table looked amass of colourful design..It was as though a food stylist had whipped through the kitchen and we were on a food fashion shoot - if there is such a thing..Everyone was kind of gobsmacked it looked soon good....The service was perfect for us; not over done and always there when required..The floor staff were relaxed, funny + the atmosphere very friendly. It's also BYO which is fabulous, the tables and crockery are bespoke + locally designed. This added something else special to the experience.Finally the price is extremely reasonable for the quality of food, service + setting/experience...Really and truly one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long while..We would go there again in a flash.. Highly recommend you try Potager if nearby, and if you are not it's well worth the trip!!
