Grossly overrated! Average service with little to excite our culinary senses.
Almost from arrival it was clear that this establishment is trading on its past. We were not greeted on arrival, the waitstaff were scurrying about and when finally the wine arrived, alas it was the wrong bottle…..no matter the error was detected and the selection justified! Now for the menu…..underwhelming. Kickoff with mussels….i love mussels whether from Eden or Port Lincoln but guys that is NOT your regional produce. Soufflé ????????. Risotto and here I defer to my wife….”no explanation, no flavour”. Main,scotch fillet on a superb purée potato with broccolini …enjoyable but hardly inspiring. Desserts were were fine but by then we’d moved to the second bottle to lift our spirits as this was definitely not what we’d anticipated…..the stinger in the tail, apart from cost……Stephano is, contrary to the website, no longer the cook.
