The Empire Beef Tower
To end our long day of travelling all my husband and i wanted to do was enjoy a nice cold beer and nice hot meal. From the moment we arrived at the empire we were treated like "mates". Firstly the young girl behind the bar Virginia (if i remember correctly) explained what beers they had available and helped us choose one she poured our beer, served a number of other customers all the while chatting to us about queenstown just like we were "mates". i was thinking to myself 'wow this is such a lovely girl". Then came time to look at the menu. Unlike my husband, i am quite fussy when it comes to food especially when im paying for it as i am a chef and know good food. My husband read through the menu and chose his meal almost instantly, a 400g Tbone well done with vegetables and pepper sauce. Me on the other hand, read through every meal on the menu and struggled to pick something as almost everything sounded mouth watering. So the young girl behind the bar offered to get the chef to help me decide. Out came quite a young chef Named Bonnie (i remember this as my neice is also named Bonnie) anyway, Bonnie was ever so pleasant and just like virginia Treated both me and my husband like "mates"She talked me through each meal but expressed a lot of interest in the beef tower. So that is what i ordered! when our meals arrived at our table i was amazed at how "beautiful"my beef tower looked i even had to take a picture. my husbands tbone was cooked to perfection as were his vegetables. i really do recommend that EVERYBODY has a meal or a drink at the Empire Hotel as everyone that goes there is the staffs "mates"
