About The Flackyard
Unique degustation dining experiences with an Australian bush tucker twist await at The Flackyard on Mackay Eungella Road in Pinnacle. This intimate, small venue is a retreat with respect for space and light; the earthy tones that dress the table, ever-evolving and engaging artwork and the room all combine to make you feel at home at your table. Lean back and breathe in the heritage building, with windows providing glimpses of the lush landscape and kitchen garden outside and peruse degustation and four-course menus showcasing local, seasonal, native food and beverages. Expect plates such as coral trout, pickled pear, carrot, sea purslane, finger lime and wild-harvested lemongrass velouté; or free-range pork, bunya nut, muntries and seafern, enjoyed with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Bush Tucker done right
I would have missed this restaurant if I wasn’t with a local & been poorer for it. Bush tucker done right. Each course was tastier than the the last. Do yourself a favour and go for the 10 course degustation as I don’t think there’s a dish that I would have wanted to miss!

We had an amazing dinner with our beautiful friends and the service from the moment we stepped in to the moment we stepped out was INCREDIBLE. The service and knowledge of the staff is one of a kind perfect. We will definitely be heading back and hope it is an icon of Mackay for years to come.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a very long time. The judicious use of local native ingredient is on point. Service and ambiance is to die for. If it was in a capital city you’d pay double and be happy; the fact it’s in Pinnacle makes it better for us locals

The flavour combinations play on your tongue and leave you wanting more after every bite. I’m so glad we are so lucky to have such a wonderful dinning experience with in our region using so much local Produce to show case our region. This is an experience not a just meal!

Fine dining finally comes to Mackay
I have lived in Mackay for 8 years and the one thing the area lacks, until at least Townsville, is fine dining and great service. Well not anymore! Nick and Mark have bought their dream to life and called it The Flackyard. This incredible restaurant offers 3 to 10 course meals, with the option to pair drinks with each course (the home made cider is a must). The only thing that matches the food is the service. Chef Mark, not only prepares all courses with love and care, but hand delivers them to your table and describes them in detail with passion. By the time you finish the 10 course degustation you will feel like a part of the family. Can hardly wait for our next experience!
