About The Lion and Buffalo
Expect to see rabbits and lots of them at fun and funky café The Lion and Buffalo on Malabar Road in Coogee. There’s a huge wall mural featuring rabbits, along with smaller Polish porcelain bunnies throughout the café, paying homage to owner Anna Allison’s homeland; while the café’s name depicts both her and her husband’s star signs. Take a seat at an old workbench below the glowing neon sign and peruse a creative menu dishing up brunch tempters like better than sex chilli and coriander ramen, with an egg, nori, mushrooms and Wagyu beef. Grab an icy cold Polish beer to go with your bacon and egg roll – two fried eggs, bacon, caramelised onion, aged cheese, slaw and house espresso BBQ sauce – or grilled mango and free-range chicken salad, fluffy quinoa, veggies and grain mustard dressing.

I believe that The Lion and Buffalo is one of the greatest cafe restaurants in the world. Everything and everyone is exceptional. It's also tremendous value for money considering how great everything is. Highly recommend.
