About Tweed River House
A beautiful bistro on the banks of the majestic Tweed River in picturesque Murwillumbah, Tweed River House on River Street is the place to dine, drink and socialise. With sweeping views of majestic Wollumbin, this magnificently restored century-old house evokes the gentler pace of the Northern Rivers, where you can dine on the terrace, or inside under the statement chandelier and elegant pressed tin ceilings. From a carefully curated menu showcasing seasonal produce, start with venison carpaccio, Muntari berries, brioche, comte, quince gel and horseradish aioli; before pink beef sirloin, miso mash, mushrooms, port shallot, bordelaise and quandong, or pan-roasted spatchcock breast, confit thigh, duck fat potato, corn purée and riberry. Finish decadently with passionfruit cake and sorbet.

Stunning. Great food and service
Relaxed but elegant atmosphere. Breathtaking views of mountain & river Tweed and tasting menus spot on and affordable. Will go again.
Fabulous
This relatively new restaurant is simply world class. We had three course, each dish was delicious with stunning presentation. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the wonderful view across the river Mt Warning spectacular.
So wonderful
What a lovley, relaxed and elegant experience. A must do on any bucket list.
Excellent venue, service and delicious food.
Divine food, beautiful service and stunning setting from very particular Sydney diners. We love what you have created here.
A wonderful dining experience
The decor is stunning, every detail thoughtfully constructed, the environment a feast for the eyes, the Asian style interiors transported me to other world class restaurants poised above impressive riverscapes. It could have been the Mekong, or the Chao Praya, but no, it was in my own backyard, the Tweed River, with Mt Wollumbin staring us down.
A wonderful sensory experience, but then there was the food, exquisitely prepared and presented. The tastes had me squirming in sheer delight. The service was friendly and thoughtful, accommodating our needs with ease and grace.
An experience I will want to repeat.
Exceptional
Hosts Phillip and Gregory are most gracious and the Tweed River House is a restaurant of a world class standard by ambiance, staff service and amazing presentation of the delicious choices on the menu complimented by a great selection of wines. Relaxing on the veranda overlooking the river and adjoining cane fields enjoying an exceptional meal has to be one of life’s great pleasures.
