BEST LONG LUNCH EVER
Do yourselves a favour and book a long lunch with Col and Fiona...and Angus the gorgeous pup (such a bonus to have him there too). 4 friends and I had a long lunch at Flaxman on Thursday 18 May 2023 and it was simply superb. An intimate setting with amazing food and wonderful hosts. There were a lot of laughs and a LOT of great wine to be had! Can't recommend this highly enough!

Fell in love with a Stranger years a go... the '04 I think? Have been following Flaxman Wines since and never disappointed. Fantastic wines and I recommend getting in before someone tells these guys that they're not charging enough!

Flaxman Wines is the complete "Barossa" package. For starters even the drive to the picture perfect vineyard/ cellar door is one of the best in the valley. Fi and Col are wonderful welcoming hosts. Warning, after visiting, you will want to move into the valley to be part of the family. The wines ooze provenance and a hands on passionate approach to wine making. Book a spot at their next long lunch, it makes Christmas with the relies look like getting root canal work at the dentist. Get in quick so you can say "I've known about them for ages" before they get super trendy.

This was a highlight of our recent visit to the Barossa. We have been fans of this small producer for years, so when we contacted Flaxman we were delighted to find that the winemaker, Colin Sheppard, was happy to provide a private tasting for us. We were even more delighted when we arrived to find that the vineyard setting was so beautiful – the tasting was held outside at a table overlooking the vineyard and one of the dams on the property. Colin was charming and he made us feel immediately relaxed as he talked us through the wines and the Flaxman story. As always, the wines were first class and we bought some super back vintage Eden Valley Riesling, a few bottles of “The Stranger” Shiraz Cabernet and some Eden Valley Shiraz that Colin arranged to have shipped to us. We will return to Flaxman Wines soon for one of the famed “long lunches”.

What a fabulous vineyard to visit when you're in Eden Valley. Colin and Fiona are welcoming, and with their boutique wines are a delight on the palate. If you're looking for a special day out, suggest you attend one of the 'seasonal' long table lunches, held 4 times a year.

Col & Fiona are beautiful friendly people whose knowledge of good food and wine come from their passion for the industry. Their boutique wines are simply magnificent.
