The Finer Drop Festival promises to be a fabulous celebration of fun, fashion, flavour and of course some of the finest spirits, cocktails, wines, bubbles and beers from around the world.
Held at Randwick Racecourse’s Winx Stand on Saturday and Sunday, November 18-19, the spectacular two-day event will host artisan food stalls, exclusive Christmas markets, live fashion shows (featuring one of Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber’s favourite brands) and luxe travel offerings by Porsche and Sydney Sea Planes.
Plus, several seriously big stars of the Sydney food scene. Here are four of our favourites:
A Bachie favourite launching his own bubbles:
One of the most anticipated attractions at the festival is the launch of a new wine by former Bachelor Tim Robards - a familiar face among fans of the reality show franchise.
Named Elle Rose (a tribute to his daughter), Tim’s latest project is a fusion of his passion for wine and the vision to create something beautiful that brings people together for celebration.
What's unique about Elle Rose is that it draws inspiration from Provencal-style drinks, with a touch of Australian heritage. To bring this vision to life, Tim partnered with Sommelier Shun, who boasts an extensive background in the wine industry.
Their collaboration led them to create a beautiful rosé that encapsulates the best of Australia's wine-making traditions. While he may have originally found fame handing out roses, Elle Rose shows that these days Tim is really about the rosés.
The chance to take a painting class with an Archibald Prize finalist:
Fans of Pinot and Picasso will have a unique opportunity to explore both by taking part in Winmark Art sessions with celebrated artist and Archibald Prize finalist Julianne Ross Alcorn. Julianne, who has been awarded Wynne prizes in 2020, 2021 and 2022, will guide participants in a 90-minute painting class while they enjoy tastings of Winmark wines.
This artistic experience is a rare chance to sip on exceptional wines while engaging with a talented artist at the same time.
An epic Aussie x American beer collaboration:
Craft beer aficionados, get ready for a collaboration of epic proportions! Mountain Culture, an independent craft beer company based in the Blue Mountains, has teamed up with legendary American craft beer pioneers, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co, for a special brew.
Sierra Nevada is widely recognised as a founding father of the craft beer movement and this collaboration is a significant moment for beer enthusiasts. The collaboration resulted in a Summer Pale Ale that blends the best of both breweries, combining Cascade Hops with Citra, Mosaic, BRU-1, and Vic Secret for a tropical, floral, and citrusy flavour.
The malt blend features Pils, wheat and oats for a full-bodied mouthfeel and embodies the essence of both breweries. This is a must-try for anyone attending the Finer Drop Festival.
Three Blue Ducks' three-course pop-up restaurant:
Finally, foodies are in for a treat at the Finer Drop Festival, thanks to the Three Blue Ducks' three-course pop-up restaurant. Founded by three friends, with a shared love for cooking, fishing, and surfing, Three Blue Ducks is known for its commitment to delicious and ethical food, with its pop-up promising to deliver the same stand-out experience as its bricks-and-mortar versions.
The menu will showcase dishes that reflect a passion for great, sustainably focused food. Diners can enjoy dishes like smoked salmon pastrami with mixed citrus and fennel salad, pressed lamb shoulder with salsa verde and barramundi filet with lemongrass dashi off a menu that perfectly complements the festival's offerings.
