If a 13-hatted restaurant announced ‘A Year of Food Over Fire” featuring 12 Chef collaborations over 12 months - would you instantly pay attention?
Adelaide’s Arkhé has announced Arkhé & Friends presented by Laphroaig Whisky, a collaboration between co-owner and Executive Chef Jake Kellie and fellow hospitality heavyweights from Australia and across the world.
Since opening in November 2021, Arkhé has welcomed collaborations with other Chefs to reinforce supporting each other from within the hospitality sector and helping to promote South Australia’s dining scene.
Arkhé is Adelaide’s first open-flame restaurant and Jake says: "Collaborations such as these expose us to new audiences and different ways of cooking, keeping us at the top of our game. Following the success of our collaboration events with Michelin-starred Chef David Thompson, Martin Boetz and Louis Tikaram in May last year, we understand the appetite for visiting Chefs and look forward to bringing a series of rare, world-class experiences to the people of Adelaide and Australia.”
Chef Jake Kellie with Bill Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowicz from Porteno.
As part of the unique dining experience that is Arkhé & Friends, each month will see a different guest Chef appear at Arkhé over a year. The well-rounded program will see events take various forms with a range of price points. Trailblazers in their field, these Chefs have demonstrated a passion for contributing to the industry beyond their restaurants.
The first three events to take place in the series are:
Ben Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowicz, Porteno (Sydney): Thursday, April 11. The duo is renowned for their expertise in cooking with fire and meats cooked over an Argentine grill.
Jemma Whiteman, Ante (Sydney): Thursday, May 9.
Mat Lindsay, Ester (Sydney): Thursday, June 27.
Laphroaig Whisky will embark with Jake on a fiery culinary journey showcasing the complex and considered experience of the bold Scottish whisky through cocktails, tasting flights and culinary creations. Laphroaig will extend the Chef collaboration by hosting events at partner restaurants Agnes (Brisbane), Matilda (Melbourne) and Ester (Sydney) from July to September 2024.
Tickets to the first event with Porteno can be purchased here.
