Cocktail of the Week Elixiba Herbal Alchemy Mixologist Kittea.

Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!

You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.

What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant. Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.

Cheers to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.

Offering a holistic approach to dining and nightlife for locals and travellers visiting Maroochydore is Elixiba Herbal Alchemy Bar & Restaurant on Ocean Street. Escape the rush of modern society and step into a magical interior, where timbers twist into bar stools, lights hypnotise with purple and green hues and diners feel nourished and revived by the warmth of Mother Nature’s delights.

Mixologist Kittea serves up a delightful new take on a classic Martini, using lemongrass and matcha powder – this drink is bursting with anti-oxidants, so enjoy your night and wake up feeling fresh!

"Martinis always impress with minimal clean-up, making them our absolute favourite cocktail,” Kittea says. "You’ll want to start your lemongrass vodka a week or two ahead of time, by adding a few cut stalks of lemongrass to vodka of choice.”

The recipe also calls for aqua faba – if you don’t know what that is, it’s water from a can of chickpeas!

"It is not vital for this recipe, but we highly recommend it. Aqua faba takes the Martini to a whole new level.”
