Cocktail of the Week from Dove & Olive Mixologist Chris Deale

Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!

You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.

What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant? Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.

Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.

For craft beer and quirky pub fare, Surry Hills locals drop into Dove & Olive on Devonshire Street. Step through the door and be enveloped in a warm, rustic vibe with hanging leadlight lights, pale wood tables and leather couch seating, opening onto a green courtyard, where guests can perch on a stool, ale in hand and catch up with friends.

Cocktail of the Week from Dove & Olive Mixologist Chris Deale

Mixologist, Chris Deale delivers the Going Nutty cocktail for those who love a bold rich flavour profile with a smooth and creamy finish; the combination of macadamia liqueur and Frangelico adds a delightful nutty depth to this drink, making it a must-try for anyone looking to elevate their Espresso Martini game.

"The cocktail’s name comes from the delightful combination of nutty flavour in the drink,” Chris explains. "It suggests a fun and indulgent experience that goes beyond the classic Espresso Martini. It’s a clever way of highlighting the unique ingredients while adding a sense of whimsy and excitement to the beverage.”

Macadamia liqueur, which features prominently in this cocktail, is made from locally sourced roasted macadamia nuts and toasted native Australian wattle seed.
