Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!
You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.
What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant. Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.
Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.
Café meets cocktail bar in warm timber-clad surrounds at Good Measure on trendy Lygon Street in Carlton. Look for the sign with a magpie just a short walk from Argyle Square to find this café by day and bar by night, where a mid-century décor creates a unique ambience as the record player cranks up at night and guests delve into a range of Japanese sake, house cocktails, wine and beer.
Mixologist Max Allison recommends trying Good Measure’s signature Tres Chile Margarita to get the party started.
"It has the perfect amount of spice that hits quick and fades quickly, leaving you wanting another sip almost immediately,” he says. "We use leftover zested oranges from our cafe service to make our own jalapeño orange liqueur for this cocktail.
"We call it a Tres Chile Margarita as we use three different chillies to achieve the perfect balance of spice and flavour.”
Drop by and say arriba to a night of fun…or take the action home and treat amigos to the Margarita of their dreams!
