Cocktail of the Week from Hains & Co Mixologist Wil Bickely

Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!

You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.

What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant? Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.

Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.

Head down hidden alleyways in the west end of the city to discover Adelaide’s iconic gin and cocktail bar Hains & Co on Gilbert Place. With a penchant for whisky and cigars, this hot spot also offers a unique alfresco which lends itself to great connections shared over delectable spirits and bar snacks…you’d never know you are in the middle of the CBD.

An eclectic vibe awaits with trailing greenery, softly glowing pendent lights and polished wood setting the scene for after-work catchups or pre-dinner drinks, perhaps ordering a Siren’s Song cocktail with Neptunia gin, Auvert liqueur, lemon juice and Orgeat.

Mixologist, Will Bickely says it’s hard to resist the Siren’s call with the perfect balance of sweet, sour and herbal notes.

"This is a most delightful gin cocktail, plus receive a Hendrick’s cooling towel with every one ordered – bonus!”
