Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!
You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.
What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant. Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.
Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.
Inspired by Japanese design, driven by precision and executed by artisans, Kuro on Kent Street in the heart of Sydney introduces a bar and dining experience based on the root-to-stem philosophy. Immerse yourself in a creative process designed to evoke your emotions and release your imagination in casual yet chic surrounds in the dining room, while the bar is a contemporary space marrying nostalgic elegance with modern ingenuity.
Have you ever seen a Drunken Rabbit? No? Well now you can drink one at Kuro Bar & Dining…this creation by mixologist Fumiaki Michishita is only available at the bar and best drunk at the end of your meal as a dessert cocktail.
Expect a delicious drink that tastes like carrot cake, made using Tasmanian vodka, which is extremely smooth, creamy and has buttery mouth feel. The Japanese pepper and nutmeg sprinkled on top create a unique contrast and kick to the flavour of the cocktail.
The idea for this cocktail was formulated when Fumiaki was eating out at a restaurant and had an interesting carrot dish that was recreated in a liquid form. The name came about as carrots are a rabbit’s favourite food and they are sure to order such a drink at the bar!
