Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!
You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.
What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant? Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.
Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.
A local treasure of taste sensations awaits Sunshine Coast diners at Pitchfork Restaurant on Kingfisher Drive in Peregian Beach. Nestled in the heart of old Peregian Square, find an elegant yet relaxed ambience indoors, while a large alfresco area is ideal for grassy views and catchups with family and friends.
Delicately crafted, the lush Hazelnut Espresso Martini is Pitchfork’s sophisticated nightcap, balancing bitter espresso with the nutty sweetness of hazelnut and a dazzling hint of vodka – it is dreamy, utterly divine and a lingering taste you won’t soon forget.
The Espresso Martini was originally named the ‘Vodka Espresso’ and was crafted by London bartender, Dick Bradsell in the 1980s. An unnamed model (suspected to be Kate Moss) asked him for a drink that would ‘wake me up and then mess me up.’
As its popularity spread, it soon became recognised as the sleek, chic Espresso Martini that we adore today.
