Bringing a breath of fresh sea breeze air to the Gold Coast, Siblings Kirra on Marine Parade dishes up absolute beachfront views and innovative fare with flair. Housed in the iconic former Pizza Hut building in Kirra, this light-filled restaurant boasts uninterrupted ocean views from the outside deck as guests watch locals and visitors frolic in the surf.
Mixologist Paolo Gabrielloni recommends if you drink rum at 11 am on Siblings' deck, you’re a pirate and not an alcoholic! Hence the Pirate on the Beach cocktail.
"It highlights the joy of drinking a rum tiki cocktail with its complexity, depth of flavour and yet fresh approachable taste that makes it easy to enjoy and very satisfying,” he says.
The cocktail combines three completely different styles of rum from three different parts of the world – Cuba, Australia and Jamaica – in a harmonious concoction.
Part of the recipe was inspired by World Rum Ambassador Ian Burrel’s technique of utilising condensed milk in a tiki cocktail and Brazilian dessert lovers who use condensed milk in almost all their sweet treats.
Served in a unique pirate tiki mug, imported directly from the US and a unique feature of Siblings, the cocktail's name was inspired by a love for rum and rum cocktails. The ‘pirate’ is referred to as a funny ‘Jack Sparrow-style' iconic figure of free-spirited rum drinkers.
‘On the Beach’ is a nod to Siblings’ home on the Gold Coast and its wonderful endless main attraction!
