With five venues in one location, the C.Y. O’Connor Village Precinct has been crowned Perth’s Best Venue and named Best Family Dining Venue at the prestigious Hospitality Awards.
Off the back of Best Group Operator and Perth’s Best Casual Dining Awards in 2023, the Precinct took out these new gongs at the AHA (WA) Awards last week.
Managing Director, John Dawkins says: "We are humbled and very grateful to have received this tremendous accolade amongst some very talented competition in the industry.
"The only way it is possible to have any hope of winning an award like this is through the hard work and dedication of our wonderful team who deliver such exceptional experiences to our customers.”
John adds: "After the fire that burnt the pub to the ground in 2021, the loyalty and character our staff has shown by digging deep without complaint and fighting to get us back into a good position cannot be overstated.”
The Precinct was built to cater to almost every food and beverage need of the community, incorporating Melaleuka Farm-to-table produce, with diverse venues offering indoor and outdoor casual, family-friendly dining, takeaway and premium dining experiences.
Venues in the Precinct are:
C.Y. O’Connor Village Pub – a pub with 36 taps and live sport.
Tilly’s Garden – an outdoor cocktail bar with Asian fusion-style share food.
The Steak House - a premium dining restaurant with a serene atmosphere.
Charlie’s Paddock – family-friendly alfresco dining with an epic playground for the kids.
Paperbark Burger Co. – a smash burger bar for dine-in and takeaway customers.
Thirsty Camel – a drive-through bottle shop.
Katey-Jane Dawkins adds:
"We are proud to be part of such a stimulating industry that challenges us all with constant evolution. There are so many great venues that continue to raise the bar despite the barriers put in their way!
"We have enormous respect for anyone who is able to succeed in hospitality, but to be considered one of the best by the Australian Hotels Association is truly humbling. It has been a very difficult few years culminating in rebuilding and reopening the Precinct during a construction and staffing crisis and this success is testament to the exceptional, hard-working team we have.”
