Discover the flavours of Peru at Warike Restaurant on Devonshire Street in Surry Hills. ‘Warike’ is a word often used in Peru to refer to a hidden restaurant where people eat delicious food and are usually found by word of mouth; the name was chosen to signify how this Sydney dining destination started – one person telling another.
Why should you drop in for a meal at Warike Restaurant? Here are three good reasons:
What’s your most popular dish/drink:
Our must-try dishes are our ceviche, especially the ‘Conchas y Caballa’ – which translates to scallops and mackerel – which is our newest addition to our ceviche menu and a memorable bite.
Our must-try drink is the Pisco Sour, as it is Peru’s national cocktail.
What's your point of difference:
What sets us apart is the fact we bring a whole new cuisine that hasn’t been explored on this scale in Sydney before – new flavours, techniques and textures from one of the best culinary destinations in the world.
What is a fun fact that not many people know about the restaurant?
Believe it or not, we started as a pop-up not too long ago and now we are known as a thriving restaurant – more than just a meal, Warike invites you to experience Peruvian culture.
Our Chef Hector has designed the menu based on his experiences growing up in Peru and he loves being able to talk about the history of each recipe and the many different countries that have influenced Peruvian cuisine.
