Look What’s New – Snow Monkey Ramen!

Are you always on the lookout for a new café, bar or restaurant to indulge yourself, family and friends?

No sweat…we have you covered! Every week AGFG will aim to let you know what new venues have opened in your area and why you should give them a try.

You can help too – just click here to email our PR team and let us know of a new eatery in your suburb so we can inform everyone and help these establishments thrive and survive during tough times.

A shared passion for skiing and the authentic flavours of Japanese cuisine combined to create Snow Monkey Ramen on Toorak Road in South Yarra. Housed in a corner building with leadlight windows and a full glass frontage, this unique ramen shop blends the traditional cooking techniques of Japan and France to bring a new taste to Melburnians; head inside to find blond wood table settings, cane pendent lights, paper lanterns and neon signage, ideal for an after-work catch up with friends.

Why should you drop in for a meal at Snow Monkey Ramen? Here are three good reasons:

What’s your most popular dish:

There are a few must-try dishes such as spicy miso ramen – very different from traditional spicy ramen as we use Szechuan spices to give it a twist in flavour. We make our own black garlic paste for our black garlic ramen which is very rich in flavour; while the stock for our lobster bisque ramen is made from prawns, lobster shell and blue swimmer crab, topped with a freshly breadcrumbed prawn.

What is your point of difference?

We are unique in that we are not a traditional ramen shop.  I am the owner and a Le cordon bleu Chef so we are bringing the French way of cooking into the ramen scene which is uniquely different from traditional ramen shops.

What is a fun fact that not many people know about the restaurant?

All broths are made fresh in-house and we are going to make our own noodles soon. We have a city location opening next March.
