Look What’s New - Wakuda!

Are you always on the lookout for a new café or restaurant to indulge yourself, family and friends?

No sweat…we have you covered! Every week AGFG will aim to let you know what new venues have opened in your area and why you should give them a try.

You can help too – just click here to email our PR team and let us know of a new eatery in your suburb so we can inform everyone and help these establishments thrive and survive during tough times.

Come for the dining, stay for the karaoke at Wakuda on Bourke Street in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. This authentic Japanese dining destination, located in the Mid City Centre, exudes a moody vibe of seductive lighting, tiled floors, intimate booths and carved panelling, ideal for a romantic rendezvous or any special occasion.

Why should you drop in for a meal at Wakuda? Here are three good reasons:

What’s your most popular dish:

Wakuda's signature dishes were created in collaboration with Mr Ishizuka. Our best-selling squid mentaiko spaghetti is an inspired interpretation of our favourite Asian eating experiences.

Influenced by the cuisine of Japan, China, Korea and Vietnam, classic dishes are revitalised and new dishes created.

What's your point of difference:

Wakuda is not only one of the largest and most spacious Japanese restaurants in Melbourne, it is the only multi-level venue with private karaoke rooms, a fully licensed bar and a full-service Japanese restaurant offering an à la carte menu as well as shabu shabu hot pot.

What is a fun fact that not many people know about the restaurant?

Wakuda is hidden within Mid City Centre in Chinatown - we are only accessible via the elevator hidden in the corner next to the loved Royal Custard Puff.

We love it when new customers enter, the entryway leading over to a balcony that overlooks level two dining and our rooftop balcony area is stunning.

It is a surprise to everyone - "Oh wow! This space is incredible. You would never imagine a place like this existed in this shopping centre!”
