This February, Brisbane’s vibrant dining scene gets a citrusy twist as Poca Madre marks Margarita Month with an unmissable series of Cointreau masterclasses.
Held every Thursday evening throughout the month, these engaging and interactive sessions will immerse attendees in the art of crafting the perfect Margarita, guided by renowned tequila aficionado Carlos Hurworth of the Church of Agave, a resource to educate people on all things agave spirits.
Set in the stunning La Vista space at Poca Madre, each masterclass offers a unique experience blending education and entertainment. Guests will begin the evening with a refreshing Cointreau Margarita on arrival, setting the tone for an immersive journey into the world of premium spirits.
Under Carlos’s expert guidance, participants will enjoy a hands-on introduction to the essentials of making your Margarita ‘MargaRight’, starting with a 'Make Your Own Guacamole' session that puts a creative spin on the classic accompaniment.
The evening continues with a guided tasting of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Teremana tequila range, including Blanco, Reposado and Añejo varieties, accompanied by tips on pairing and mixing. Guests will then put their newfound knowledge to the test by crafting their own signature Margaritas, using premium ingredients and techniques designed to elevate every sip.
Adding a touch of take-home charm, all attendees will leave with a custom gift bag featuring a small bottle of Cointreau, a bartender cocktail kit, and a stylish tote bag, ensuring the Margarita magic continues long after the evening ends.
Guests who order a Cointreau Margarita at the venue during the month will have the chance to win prizes, including tote bags, Cointreau-branded fans and 50mL bottles of the iconic orange liqueur.
Margarita Month at Poca Madre will run every Thursday in February, with masterclasses held on the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th. Tickets are $75 per person and include all activities, drinks, tastings and gifts. Each session is limited to 30 participants, ensuring an intimate and personalised experience. Masterclasses commence at 6.15 pm for a 6.30 pm start.
