Mucho Mexicano, Mucho Cointreau and Mucho Brisbane

February is Margarita Month! Arriba.

As the essential ingredient in the original Margarita, Cointreau takes centre stage in honouring Australia's beloved cocktail and centre stage at Brisbane’s best-voted Mexican restaurant, Mucho Mexicano.

Located on Little Stanley Street in South Brisbane, the cantina pays homage to the modern Mexican food-loving amigo, as well as at its other location in Hawthorne just on the other side of the Brisbane River.

Mucho Mexicano, Mucho Cointreau and Mucho Brisbane

Iconic French orange liqueur Cointreau and Mucho Mexicano are joining forces to launch the Margarita Month festivities for February with specials on Margs throughout. Guests will be able to enjoy their very own mini Margaritas for only $7.50, choosing from refreshing favourites such as the Original, Passionfruit or Coconut Margarita! Can’t decide? Don’t! The partnership will also see cocktail enthusiasts able to indulge in their very own flight of Margaritas for only $21.

What makes Margaritas so interesting? Back in 1948, Dallas socialite Margarita Sames originally created what we now know as the Margarita. While vacationing in Acapulco, Margarita mixed her two favourite spirits, Cointreau and Tequila together with lime juice, giving birth to the infamous Margarita.

As for the iconic Cointreau and its rise to fame, that started way back in 1849 in Angers, France. Distilled with a combination of sweet and bitter orange peel to produce a crystal-clear spirit, it possesses a unique complexity. Cointreau is perfect for enhancing the vibrancy of cocktails, including refreshing favourites like the Original, Passionfruit or Coconut Margarita.

Serving everything from tacos to quesadillas, all dishes at Mucho Mexicano are designed to share, with colourful interiors paying homage to Mexico’s finest, Frida Kahlo.

Be sure to add this local institution to your Brisbane repertoire.
